Warm up 2- Orc

Well here is another warm up. I have always tried to get multiple colours on a face and here is an example. Much like the previous post, this is a colour experimentation. I strayed away from light greens and went with a more muddy green. I had the initial drawing on my main layer, but as I started to "figure out" the colours I found it wasn't necessary to have it any more. As well as my previous drawing this one can be refined. As I learn more about digital painting I hope to revisit the orc and possibly add some texture to it.

Warm up - Nelson Mandela

So it has been quite some time. Two years to be exact! I have been focusing a lot on my graphic design work ( as it is my career ) but drawing has always been my love.

I had some free time today and decided to do some drawing. I know my weakest point in drawing has always been colour. So I spent an hour referencing colour and mixing from a photo of Nelson Mandela. I focused on the tones and although not perfect, turned out much better than expected. Going forward I aim to make colour something I can be comfortable with. Here's to many more posts to come....hopefully!

A Mean Guy

Found an older drawing I did and decided to give it the black and white treatment.

From Sketch to Colour

Here is the linear sketch of a demon soldier I drew. The second is a black and white version of the creature. My advice is to fill in the darks first. The highlights come in easier.
